Arsenal supporters attempted to disrupt Manchester City’s title run by lighting off fireworks outside of what they thought to be the hotel where Pep Guardiola’s squad were staying, but their scheme was foiled.
City travels to London to play an away Premier League match against Tottenham on Tuesday night.
The club led by Guardiola knows that two victories in their next two games will secure their premier league title, even as they are now one point behind Arsenal.
There were early doubts about whether City remained there the night before the game, even as Gunners supporters set upon the hotel of the defending champions. Tuesday night’s Spurs game is at 8:00 p.m., and sure enough, the Manchester team is traveling down on game day, according BBC Sport.
Guests at the aforementioned hotel had a restless night, regardless of whether the antics had a direct impact on City’s players. The behavior was met with varying opinions, some of which targeted the offenders.
“For an 8pm kick-off. Their mums and dads waiting for them in the car park will be mortified…” one said on social media. “This is such a weird thing that’s started to happen,” was the reaction from another.
City fans appeared unbothered by the goings-on. “And tonight we show them the fireworks on the pitch,” wrote one, while even one Arsenal fan said “We’re not the brightest bunch at times are we”. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
