The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned Azubuike Mamwu Obasi for currency racketeering before Justice P. I. Ajoku of the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, the capital city of Rivers State on Monday, 11th of March, 2024.
The anti-graft agency made this known in a statement issued out on its X page on Tuesday, 12th of March, 2024
Part of the statement reads:
” The Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, March 11, 2024, arraigned Azubuike Mamwu Obasi before Justice P. I. Ajoku of the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt, Rivers State for currency racketeering.
“Obasi is facing trial on a four-count charge, bordering on illegal acquisition of banknotes and carrying out banking services without an appropriate licence, contrary to Section 18 (1) and (2) (d) of the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022 and punishable under Section 18 (3) of the same Act.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>>>
