‘Afrobeats Is Not Worth Listening To Without Me’ – Orezi Speaks

Nigerian musician Orezi, whose real name is Esegine Orezi Allen, recently made a bold statement about Afrobeats music.

During an interview with Gehn Gehn TV, the 37-year-old artist from Delta State expressed his belief that Afrobeats isn’t worth listening to without his presence.

Orezi, who has been relatively quiet in the music scene for some time, asserted that he stands out from his peers in the entertainment industry because he doesn’t conform to their norms.

He confidently declared that he would soon make a strong comeback and take control of the Nigerian music scene.

Referring to himself as a lion, the ‘Shoki’ singer stated that his upcoming single would be a massive hit.

He said, “Afrobeats without me is not worth listening to. A lion cannot miss the hunt. I will carry Afrobeats to the next level on my shoulders, and I will dominate. What sets me apart from other artists is that I’m unique. I don’t follow the rules. Rules are for regular artists. I am Orezi.”

In related news, Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy revealed during an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra that the late Indian rapper Sidhu Moose Wala served as his inspiration when he felt creatively drained.

Burna Boy mentioned that he had been working on a collaborative project with Moose Wala before the rapper’s tragic assassination in May 2022. Burna Boy admitted, “I was exhausted musically, and I felt like I needed something new.”

Burna Boy explained, “He made me want to be a better artist. Sidhu Moose Wala was one of the biggest inspirations I had at a time when I felt like I’d already done everything musically. I felt like I’d exhausted myself musically in my mind because I was listening to everything, and nothing was making sense to me.”

He continued by saying, “I felt like I’d already covered everything in my songs. But Sidhu brought a fresh perspective to my music. He’s a legend, the legend of Punjab. There will never be another like him.”…[CONTINUE READING HERE]>>
