Nollywood actor Godwin Nnadiekwe has raised alarm over safety practices on film sets after sustaining a chest injury during an unscripted incident involving a colleague.
In a statement shared on his Instagram handle, Nnadiekwe recounted receiving a kick to the chest by fellow actor Zubby Michael during a film shoot, an action he said was not in the script nor directed by the filmmaker.
The incident, which he described as painful, forced him to seek medical treatment on his own, without any support from the production team.
Sharing the video on Instagram, Nnadiekwe wrote:
“Just wanted to share an incident that happened on set few days ago. This isn’t to call anyone out, but it’s a serious reminder that we need to prioritize each other’s safety on set. During a scene, I received a kick to the chest from my colleague that wasn’t part of the script or directed by the director. It’s caused me serious pains. Had to get medication for my chest to feel better today. I did all these by myself. No assistance!

“Every action on set, particularly physical ones, needs to be intentional and within the director’s vision.
“Please let us all look out for each other and ensure our sets are always safe spaces where everyone feels secure and protected. Because our health and safety are paramount.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>>
