Abuja-Kaduna Train Attack: Family Pays Tribute To Dr. Chinelo One Year After Her Death By Terrorists

Chinelo Megafu, the family of the dental surgeon, who was killed in the Abuja-Kaduna train attack on the 28th of March, 2022, has paid tribute to their daughter one year after her death.

Chinelo had taken to Twitter platform on the day the train was attacked by Nigerian terrorists to announce that she was on board and had been shot saying, “I’m on the train. I have been shot, please pray for me,” she said before her demise.

During this period of time, some Twitter users labelled it a joke until one Michael Ajidahun who knew a friend of hers shockingly confirmed that she was dead at that moment.

The tribute was signed by her father, Ifeanyi Megafu, on behalf of the family on Tuesday which marked exactly a year.

He wrote, “On that fateful evening in your agony as life ebbed away, God’s spirit prompted you to tell the world the real truth as you prayed: ‘I’m on the train. I have been shot, please pray for me,’

“That act of courage immediately changed the narrative, putting paid to the usual vapid, sinful, lie and denial strewn statements that were checkmated. You became the poster face of a beleaguered and slipping nation. A nation you served so much but prematurely consumed you. The country failed you and your generation.”
