The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company made a U-turn, asking the customers to disregard reports of increase in electricity tariff in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company AEDC has asked its customers to disregard the purported reports that it will be increasing electricity tariffs by 1st of July, 2023.
The Electricity company had on Sunday, 25th of June, 2023 released a statement announcing plans to increase the tariff by July 1. The company in the statement released said the increment was due to the fluctuation of the Naira in the exchange rate, freshreporters had gathered.
However, in a new statement issued out on his Twitter handle 26th of June, 2023, the AEDC said no approval has been granted for increase in tariff yet.
