A Butcher, Usman Buda K!lled In Sokoto State Over Alleged Blasphemy (Photos)

Usman Buda, a butcher, was tragically stoned to death by an enraged mob in Sokoto state on Sunday. The incident occurred at the Sokoto abattoir and was fueled by remarks made by Buda that were deemed insulting to Prophet Muhammad.

Ahmad Rufai, the spokesperson for the Sokoto police, confirmed the incident, stating that as soon as the distress call was received, police operatives were dispatched to the scene. However, upon arrival, the mob had already fled.

Buda, found unconscious at the scene, was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment. Tragically, he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

According to the police spokesperson, a statement was released regarding the incident. It detailed the events leading up to the attack: “On 25th June 2023 at about 0955hrs, a distress call was received at about 0920hrs that one Usman Buda ‘M’ of Gwandu LGA, a butcher at Sokoto Abbatoir, allegedly blasphemed the holy prophet Muhammad (SAW). As a result, he was mobbed and attacked by some Muslim faithful who inflicted serious injuries on him.”

Following the incident, the Commissioner of Police, along with the area commander and the DPO Kwanni, led a team of policemen and operational commanders to the scene in an effort to restore order. The mob had already dispersed by the time law enforcement officers arrived.

The police spokesperson assured the public that calm had been restored in the area, and an investigation into the incident has been launched. The authorities are determined to uncover the details surrounding the gruesome attack on Usman Buda.
