A crisis that struck Egbema community, Emohua Local Government Area, Rivers State, has resulted in the death of one person, identified as Innocent Didia, and the arrest of nine others.
According to reports gathered from sources on Saturday, 1st if June, 2024, the incident happened on Friday when youths protested against the Community Liaison Officer (CLO), leading to a confrontation with the local vigilante, ONELGA Security Planning Advisory Committee (OSPAC).
The vigilante leader allegedly fired shots, killing Didia.
In retaliation, youths burnt the leader’s car and house.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, also confirmed the tragic incident, stating that nine people are in custody. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>
