Bandit-Terrorists Flee As Military Troops Comb Kaduna Forest

In a daring operation, more than 100 troops stormed the forest in Kagarko Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State, driving bandits away from their hideouts. The operation targeted several communities, including Iche, Taka-Lafiya, Gidan Makeri, and Janjala, leading to the successful expulsion of the criminal elements.

For several months, rural communities in Kagarko Chiefdom had endured the horrors of being under siege by bandits who had terrorized residents and farmers. Abductions had become commonplace, instilling fear and insecurity among the local population.

However, the situation took a positive turn as the troops executed the well-planned raid on the bandits’ hideouts and surrounding rural areas. Several suspected informants were apprehended during the operation, significantly contributing to containing the threat posed by the bandit groups.

According to Suleiman Aliyu, a respected traditional title holder in Kagarko, the troops’ arrival in the town early Wednesday morning was a sight of relief for the beleaguered community. Their presence provided hope that the reign of terror unleashed by the bandits might finally come to an end.

The decision to deploy the troops came after receiving credible intelligence that fleeing bandits from the far north were seeking to regroup and establish a camp in the Kagarko region. Prompt action was taken to prevent this from happening, and the operation yielded positive results.

A source from the palace of the Emir of Kagarko, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, confirmed the troop’s entrance into the forest and expressed the belief that the bandits’ hideouts were the target of the operation.

As of now, the Kaduna State Police Command’s spokesperson has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident. However, the local populace remains grateful for the swift and decisive action taken by the troops, bringing a sense of security back to Kagarko Chiefdom.
