The Top Nigerian Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, has disclosed that she is putting aside her acting career as she becomes the running mate of Olajide Adediran, the PDP governorship candidate of Lagos state.
Funke Akindele disclosed in a video while confirming her new political position in Lagos state.
Revealing this on her Instagram handle said that her acting career must be “necessarily put on hold”.
She said that this was a sacrifice she had to make for the people of Lagos to “rescue” them.
She said, “I am not unaware of the cost of this assignment on my vibrant career, which I must now necessarily put on hold.”
The actress had also urged the Lagos youth to take this opportunity as an advantage to liberate the state.
