2023 Election: Lagos Traders Choose Their Best Candidate Among Atiku, Tinubu And Obi

Traders in a well-known market in Lagos state have a different attitude ahead of the upcoming presidential election, scheduled for Saturday, February 25th, 2023.

Despite the recent events that have dominated the conversation among Nigerians in the political sphere, such as the scarcity of the new naira notes, the increase in fuel prices, and the shortage of the product, the traders in the market have stated that they will cast their votes wisely in the upcoming election.

A foodstuff trader in an interview with Legit spoke about the presidential candidate he will support and vote for in the upcoming election. He stated that he will give his full support to Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) due to his exceptional performance as a former governor of Anambra state. The trader believes that if given the opportunity, Obi would perform even better as a new breed.

“I will vote for Peter Obi and not Bola Tinubu of the APC that has brought us to the present condition we are in at the moment in the country.

“The APC brought untold hardship into the land and they are doing all they can to make sure we wallow in more pain as citizens, hence, the party cannot get my vote at all.” The Trader Quoted.

The businessman stated when explaining why he would support the Labour Party candidate over Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party or Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party

“I want a new breed to be given power, an opportunity to rule the country and Peter Obi represents well.

“When Obi was governor of Anambra state he did a whole lot to change the narrative in the land and everyone in the state can attest to this fact till this day.”

A Potatoe Seller Prefer Rabiu Kwankwaso as his best candidate

The potato seller at the popular market believes that Rabiu Kwankwaso is a superior candidate compared to Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar. He is of the view that as a northern candidate, Kwankwaso has a lot to offer and will receive his vote.

The seller highlighted that there is one major reason why he would vote for Kwankwaso, stating:

“I would love to vote for Rabiu Kwanwaso because he is very passionate about what he plans to do for Nigerians if elected president.

“He has tasted power and is loved by most northerners but he will get my votes because he is very interested in the education of all, especially the northerners if voted for; this is why he will get my vote.”
