Two former members of the House of Representatives from Kwara State, Yinusa Yahya and AbdulYekeen Sidiq Alajagusi, have passed away, both within a short span of 48hours.
Alajagusi, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), succumbed to a prolonged illness on November 27. Previously, he had served as a representative for the Asa/Ilorin West constituency, winning his seat despite health challenges.
Yahya, a two-time representative for Moro/Edu/Patigi and former chairman of the House Committee on Works, passed away on November 28.
Fondly called “Bulldozer” for his strong political influence, Yahya also served as the chairman of the Kwara State Polytechnic board. His earlier political career included a stint with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) before he later joined APC.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq expressed deep sorrow over their deaths, acknowledging Alajagusi’s involvement in the political “Ó Tó Gẹ́” movement and Yahya’s reputation as a strategist admired beyond his local government.
