At least fifteen bodies have been discovered in the wake of an armed raid on Ugboju village in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue state.
Many people are still reported missing by the villagers after the assailants, who had been targeting the area for the preceding two weeks, made their entry into the village on Wednesday night.
A villager stated that the fatalities were found early on Thursday and that the villagers had no control over the situation.
He warned that as search teams continued combing through bushes for missing people, more bodies might be found before midday.
A resident of the village, Prince Inalegwu Adagole Simon, stated that the attackers attacked the community on Wednesday around 3 p.m.
“It was around 3pm yesterday (Wednesday) those attackers came to my village and killed 15 persons. Some persons have been displaced from home. Before now, we had no issue with them (attackers),” Simon said. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
