12-year-old boy höspitalised after Man allegedly forced him to eat five portions of human faéces including dried ones, for dêfecating in his uncompleted building in Delta state

A man identified as Godspower Idoho has been accused of f+rc+ng a 12-year-old boy, known as Marvelous Jonathan, to eat human f@e+es after catching him d+fec@ting in his uncompleted building in Isiokolo, Delta State.

The dist¥rbing incident reportedly occurred on April 9, 2025. According to a family source, Idoho and his friend, Abel Esowhode, discovered the boy on the premises around 7 p.m.

Idoho allegedly left to fetch his wife and a c@ne while Esowhode r+str@ined the child. Upon returning, the trio allegedly be@t the boy and f+r+ed him to eat both his own f@e+es and dried ones found around the building—reportedly up to five portions. He was later given a sachet of water and handed over to his mother.

The family reported the incident to the police, but officers allegedly advised them to settle the matter privately.

Marvelous reportedly coll@psed later that night and was rushed to the hospital, where he remains in intensive care due to severe abdominal swelling.

The Executive Assistant to the Governor on Security, Engr. Udoka Emmanuel Chika-Dibie, confirmed the case and vowed to ensure justice is served. He condemned the ab¥se and reaffirmed the state’s stance against such violations.

Although the suspect was arrested and charged before a magistrate court, he was granted bail after denying the allegations. Authorities cited the absence of a medical report as a reason for not filing more serious charges.

Human rights activist Comrade Israel Joe criticized the handling of the case, insisting it should have been prosecuted under the V+olence Against Persons (VAP) Law at a higher court, where bail is not typically granted. The case is expected to come up again on Thursday, April 17, 2025.
