1$ would have been N10,000 if not for divine intervention — Pastor Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Enoch Adeboye, has claimed that Nigeria’s currency could have gone as low as ₦10,000 to $1 if it were not for divine intervention.

Speaking at the Holy Ghost Congress in Abuja, Adeboye highlighted the nation’s ongoing economic struggles, attributing much of the financial strain to Nigeria’s dependence on fuel imports, despite its vast domestic oil reserves.

The cleric pointed out that substantial resources have been invested in refineries, many of which remain inefficient.

He said:

“We need help, and it’s not human help; it’s divine help.

“Before our current president came in, everybody knew that the major reason for our financial issues lay in the importation of petrol. Despite having oil, we continued to import petrol and waste billions on refineries that did not operate effectively.

“When the president cancelled the subsidy on petrol imports, those who benefited from it became upset and created more problems.
