Pete Edochie: If You Invite a Lady on a Date, You Must Pay for Everything

Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has stirred conversation online after sharing his strong opinion about men taking full responsibility when they invite a woman on a date.

In a video circulating on social media, the respected actor said that a man who asks a woman out must be ready to cover every expense that comes with it.

According to him, inviting someone out means accepting responsibility for whatever happens during the outing, including transportation and any other costs.

“If you invite a girl for a date you must take responsibility for whatever she does. For her transportation, anything,” he said.

Edochie added that even if the woman decides to make certain choices during the outing, the man should still be prepared to handle the expenses because he initiated the invitation.

“Even if she decides to experiment with some of her sartorial preferences, you have to make sure you pay for that… pay for that, because you invited her,” he stated.

He further explained that the situation is similar to agreeing to the conditions of a landlord before moving into a house.

“She did not on her own decide to pay you a visit. If you go for a house, whatever the landlord says is kept. If you can’t obey the terms you don’t move in. It’s the same thing,” he added.
