Troops neûtralise dèadly Böko Haram/ISWAP terrörists in Borno operations

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) have recorded significant successes in recent operations against Boko Haram and ISWAP insurgents in Borno State.

According to a statement on the Nigerian Army’s X handle, on May 21, 2025, troops intercepted a group of terrorists attempting to loot food supplies from a broken-down civilian vehicle in Rann.

Acting swiftly, the soldiers engaged the insurgents in a gun battle, killing six terrorists and recovering AK-47 rifles and ammunition.

The statement further revealed that in a separate operation, troops from the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Molai, also working with the CJTF, staged a successful ambush at a known terrorist crossing point near Komala, along the Maiduguri-Damboa Road.

The ambush led to the neutralisation of several terrorists and the seizure of multiple motorcycles and improvised explosive device (IED) components believed to be intended for future attacks.

The statement reads:

“In a decisive blow against terrorism, troops of Operation Hadin Kai , in conjunction with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have successfully engaged and neutralized several Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in separate operations.

“On May 21, 2025, troops encountered terrorists attempting to loot food items from a broken-down civilian vehicle in Rann. The swift response of the troops resulted in the elimination of six terrorists and the recovery of some AK 47 rifles with ammunition.

“In a related development, troops of the Forward Operating Base (FOB) MOLAI, along with the CJTF, conducted a successful ambush at a terrorist crossing point near Komala, along the Maiduguri-Damboa road.
