Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos state governor, on Wednesday, 10th of January, 2024 mourned the passing of Sheikh Abdul-Hafeez Aṣhamu Abou, the Baba Adinni of Lagos and chairman of the Executive Council of Lagos Central Mosque who passed away at the age of 101 on Tuesday, 9th of January, 2024.
Sanwo-Olu shared this in a post via his X page on Wednesday, 10th of January, 2024.
He wrote:
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Sheikh Abdul-Hafeez Aṣhamu Abou, the Baba Adinni of Lagos and Chairman of the Executive Council of Lagos Central Mosque.
“His death is a great loss to his family, the Muslim community, and Lagos State.
“Sheikh Abou lived an exemplary life dedicated to peace and harmony in the state. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, associates, and the entire Muslim community in Lagos.
