Giuseppe Marotta, Inter Milan’s Chief Executive Officer, has slammed Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku for leaving the Serie A winners.
Lukaku reportedly left Inter for Chelsea in order to increase his pay, according to Moratta.
According to him, there was no difference between Lukaku and Edin Dzeko, who Inter bought for free in the summer transfer window to replace the Belgium international.
Lukaku was re-signed by Chelsea from Inter for a club-record £97 million during the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old scored on his Chelsea debut against Arsenal and then added to his tally against Aston Villa with a brace.
But Lukaku has since failed to find the back of the net in the Premier League.
Speaking to Il Corriere Della Sera, Marotta hit out at Lukaku for leaving Inter Milan for money.
“Lukaku was sold for €115m and we bought Dzeko for free. On the pitch, there is not much difference.
“Lukaku left to double his salary. In Italy, these figures can’t exist.
“Today, we can’t make important investments, I would not be allowed to sign Lukaku for €75m. We need reduced and specific investments.”
