Olusegun Mimiko, the former governor of Ondo State, has claimed that Nigeria will overcome the issues it is now facing.
The former governor and a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, voiced hope about the country’s potential grandeur, saying that with the proper leaders in place by 2023, the feat will be accomplished.
According to Mimiko’s new year message, which was sent out by his Special Assistant on Media and Digital Communications, John Paul Akinduro, the year 2021 will undoubtedly be a trying one for Nigerians.
In his message, he urged Nigerians to do the right thing in 2023 by electing the proper leaders.
While repeating his support for restructuring as a solution to Nigeria’s myriad challenges, the former governor pointed out that one of the factors holding the country back from greatness was the country’s flawed electoral system.
He urged the National Assembly and President Muhammadu Buhari to take the necessary steps to ensure that the new election act is implemented.
