The US president Donald Trump says he will ban the popular video app over security concerns.

Trump to ban Tiktok which has raised concerns about the censorship of videos.

This include those critical of the Chinese government, and the potential for sharing user data with Chinese officials.

The US president said he might implement a ban today, Saturday, 1 August, 2020.

He said on Friday that he could use emergency economic powers or an executive order to enforce the action.

Trump insisted:

I have that authority.

It’s going to be signed tomorrow.

Trump’s action comes after India‘s government banned a series of apps, including Tiktok.

India place a ban on the video app amid claims that some of them are using data illegally.

India also claim the app is secretly collecting information from people’s phones.
