A 16-year-old boy was docked at an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun on Wednesday for allegedly breaking into stores and stealing shoes worth N320,000.
The defendant, whose address was not given, was charged with three charges of burglary, theft, and intentional destruction.
The prosecutor, Insp E.O. Adaraloye, informed the court that the defendant committed the crime on February 17 in the Ewupe neighborhood of Ota.
According to Adaraloye, the defendant broke into the stores of Ope Iseh, Hassan Fatolu, James Olaido, and Adedamola Damilola and took shoes, bags, garments, and other important stuff.

He said that the defendant was arrested by one of the complainants when they were all planning to sleep in their stores to figure out who was stealing them.
He claimed that the offense was in violation of the law.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty.Magistrate A.O. Adeyemi admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Adeyemi ordered that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and must be gainfully employed.She adjourned the case until March 8 for further hearing.
