Victims of the Tuesday bomb attack in Iware village in Taraba State’s Ardo-Kola local government council have gone cap in hand to seek assistance from the state and federal governments.
The bomb that erupted at a drinking establishment in Iware’s Angwan Kassa neighborhood killed 33 people and wounded many more.
Speaking to DAILY POST from their hospital beds in the community, the victims bemoaned the lack of assistance from the state administration.
Elizabeth Danjuma, one of the victims who claimed to be the operator of one of the outfits where the bomb burst, asked the authorities for assistance with medical fees.
Another victim stated that their condition might improve if the authorities could transport them to better medical facilities.
The chairman of the Mumuye ethnic group in the community, Martin Lauje, who told our correspondent that the death toll had risen, also confirmed that the community had gotten a donation of N80,000 which he said, is presently being used to treat the victims.
When reached for clarification, the Council Chairman, Ismail Zakari, said the council in collaboration with the state government are working round the clock to take over the hospital bills of the victims.
