Senator Abiru Of APC Clinch Lagos-east Senatorial Seat In A Landslide Victory

Tokunbo Abiru, the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the Lagos east senatorial bye-election, clinch the senatorial district seat after poling a total of 89,204 votes.

Abiru defeated his rival, Babatunde Gbadamosi, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who got 11,257 votes.

The election results was officially announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Sunday morning, December 6.

According to the announced results, Abiru won all the five local governments in the Lagos east senatorial district leaving his opponent with none.

The election was possible after the senator who represented the senatorial district, Senator Adebayo Osinowo who is popularly known as ‘Pepperito’ Osinowo died on Monday June 15, at 65 years-old.
