Residents of Oyo Avenue, Olorin community in Adiyan, Ogun State, rescue a newborn baby found in a soakaway.

Children playing around the soakaway heard the cries of the baby on Saturday, August 8.

The children hurried to inform a woman that a cock had fallen into the soakaway pit.

The woman heard a cry of a baby when she investigated, she then alerted people for help.

After rescuing the baby, residents reported the incident at the Agbado Police Station and a team visited the scene.

The baby, believed to be a day old baby due to the appearance of his belly button, was taken to the Oke Aro Health Centre for medical care.
