A lifeless body of a day-old baby was recovered by the police beside Ayinke hospital in Lagos State.
The body was recovered by police operatives attached to the Ikeja Division of the Lagos State Police Command, on Saturday, March 20.
The incident was confirmed in a statement by the spokesperson of the state police command, Ademuyiwa Adejobi.

He said police officers storm the place when they responded to a call from the Security Department of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, alerting the police of the corpse of the baby.
According to the police spokesperson, having discovered the corpse of the baby, the command contacted the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit that evacuated the corpse.
He further said the baby was suspected to have been abandoned by his mother and must have been exposed to risks that caused his death.
