A makeup artist was physically assaulted by some police officers yesterday, 28 December in Ekpan, Delta State.
The victim who is identified as Sonia Ovedje was assaulted on Monday evening around 7:30pm along Jakpa road, Ekpan, Delta State.
While Narrating the ordeal, the victim said she was with her friend in a tricycle when some policemen stop them at Jakpa road and accused them of gossiping about them.
The policemen started harassing and searching them, in the process of searching, one of the policemen punched her in the face.
An activist, Gwamnishu Emefiena Harrison took up the case and accompanied the victim to Ekpan Divisional Police Station.
The DPO of the station called all the patrol teams out and victim identified the police officers who assaulted her.
However, there were pleas of leniency and victim agreed to terms with them, demanded that they sign an undertaking.
The activist and his team asked for a compensation paid in cash to the victim which was done.
The Victim also asked for case to be closed as she wouldn’t want any further charges pressed.
