Tragedy struck in Patawa, Nakuru Town East, Kenya as a police officer identified as Mary Wandia Migwi, lost her three children and nanny in a house fire.
It was gathered that the fire which is believed to have been caused by a candle lefts the police officer’s house completely burnt down with four persons burnt beyond recognition.
The incident reportedly happened at about 9pm on Saturday night, May 1, while the officer was away on duty.
The tragic incident was confirmed in a statement by the Nakuru County Deputy Police Commander, Phanton Analo.
According to her, police officers were informed about the fire incident at Nairobi road estate about 4 kilometres west of the station,, adding that officers rushed to the scene and alerted men of the Nakuru County Fire Department, who arrived and put off the fire.
On checking the completely burnt down house, four bodies were found burnt beyond recognition.
The victims were identified as Mary Wairimu, 18, (maid) Leah Njoki, 10, Teresia Wanjiru, 7, and Mildred Agal, 2.
