The police in Delta State’s Isiokolo Division, Ethiope-East Local Government Area, detained Mercy Oba for allegedly assaulting her forty-five-year-old blind step-sister, Odiri Oba, and her twelve-year-old daughter.
The culprit was apprehended thanks to the efforts of Warri-based human rights activist Kelvin Ejumudo and his colleagues.
According to the activist’s Facebook page, the suspect allegedly rammed a wood into the private area of the blind woman’s twelve-year-old daughter and caused bodily damage on her and the blind mother after harsh beatings.

He further stated that the suspect rushed the victims out of their home, throwing their belongings out, while threatening to murder them and gloating that nothing would happen.
Comrade Ejumudo stated the situation.
Ejumudo, who tendered a Police medical report said, “Nobody has the monopoly of violence and to inflict bodily injuries on another individual.”
