Members of Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, PASAN, Ogun state chapter has crippled legislative activities at the state House of Assembly on Tuesday as they joined their counterparts nationwide on an indefinite strike.
The union embarked on the indefinite strike action over the failure of government to implement financial autonomy for legislature as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution (As amended).
The State Chairman of PASAN, Mr James Obanla, said that the assembly staff had joined the strike as directed by the national body.
According to him, all activities at the assembly complex would be grounded indefinitely, explaining that several notices had been issued to the government on the need to implement the financial autonomy signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari, but without any action.
