Farmers and businessmen in the northern part of Nigeria are reacting to the crises that ensured between Northeners and Southerners traders in some south-western states of the country.
Dealers in foodstuff and cattle across the Northern part of the country have started diverting their goods and all consumables to the neigbouring countries of Niger Republic and Cameroon.
It is gathered that they have started blocking trade routes to the South by stopping food item-laden trucks from going south.
According to reports, on friday, February 26, truckloads of food items from the northern part of the country were on stopped by northerners from entering Kwara State and neighbouring states in the South West.
This is believed to be because of the crisis in Shasa market which reportedly led to the death of 27 onion dealers while 14 trucks were razed.
Though, the National President of Onion Producers and Marketers, Aliyu Isa, denied that the decision to export the products resulted from the recent Shasa crisis.
