The governors of the southern part of the country have agreed that the country’s next President should come from the region.
The governors took the decision at the meeting of the southern states governors today, Monday, June 5 in Lagos.
The decision was made known in a communiqué released by the forum after the meeting.
The governors also deliberated on insecurity, constitutional amendment, PIB and anti-open grazing law in all member-states.
According to the communique, the forum commended lawmakers for the passage of PIB, but rejected in 3% set for the host communities.
The governors unanimously chose Lagos State as their permanent Secretariat.
