The Nigerian army has deployed an 100 all-female army corps to combat insecurity in Kaduna state.
The governor of the state, Nasir el-Rufai, received the troops alongside Hadiza Balarabe, the deputy governor of the state.
The arrival of the troops was revealed in a tweet from the Kaduna state government twitter handle.
According to the tweet, the all-female corps were deployed to complement security patrols on the Kaduna-Abuja expressway.
The tweet reads:
“KADUNA UPDATE: Malam Nasir @elrufai and @DrHadiza are welcoming a detachment of the Nigerian Army Women Corps that has been deployed to complement security patrols on the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway,”
