Nigeria is set to receive the first tranche of the COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021.
The Federal Government made the confirmation through the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force, PTE on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha.
According him the first shipment of 3,924,000 million doses of covid-19 vaccines is coming from COVAX a World Health Organization, WHO, backed initiative.

The PTE Chairman who is also the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, added the WHO initiative is set up to procure and ensure equitable distribution of vaccines for free among countries across the globe.
He stated that the United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) will be organizing the shipment from Mumbai, India and it will arrive in Abuja on march the 2nd, 2021.
