The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has provided relief materials to those displaced following an attack by gunmen who set fire to homes and other critical infrastructure in the Okuama town, Delta State.
Following the ugly incident, the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) are resident at the Ewu Camp in Ughelli North Local Government Area of the State.
The distribution of the relief materials was disclosed via a post on NEMA’s X handle on Friday, 8th of November 2024.
The post reads:
“The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has provided relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at the Ewu Camp in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State. These individuals, originally from Okuama town, were displaced following an attack by unknown gunmen who set fire to homes and other critical infrastructure.
“The relief distribution targeted pre-registered households in the camp, supplying a range of essential food and non-food items to alleviate their hardships.
“During the distribution, NEMA staff conveyed condolences from Director General Mrs. Zubaida Umar, acknowledging the tragic circumstances leading to the displacement.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>>
