Ndidi ready for United big move –Fashanu

Following recent rumours that Manchester United are interested in acquiring Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi in January, former Wimbledon striker John Fashanu feels Ndidi is ready to make the big switch to Old Trafford.

Ndidi has been linked with a transfer to Old Trafford on multiple occasions.

Brazilians Fred and Nemanja Matic have underwhelmed this season, while Frenchman Paul Pogba is expected to go on a free transfer next summer, with Real Madrid or Barcelona as probable destinations.

According to rumors, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would pursue the Nigerian in the January transfer window as part of his attempt to bolster the team.

Speaking with The PUNCH, Fashanu said United’s keen interest in the Nigerian is a sign that the 24-year-old had what it took to play for the Red Devils.

He said, “United have watched him (Ndidi) for years and people need to know that they are one of the best and the richest clubs in the world. They can buy whoever they want instantly, the fact that they’ve been watching him for two seasons means he wasn’t ready to make the big step at the Old Trafford back then.

“Now that they are going for him, it shows that they are convinced that he is ready to make the big move. They now believe in him and are ready to give him a chance.”

    • Man is a big team one of the richest club in Europe, it is dream come true for any player that is playing there now….. Football is business were money talk highest, some players allow money to move them to the wrong direction..
Ndidi will make the longest and greatest mistake of his life,if he joins manchester united now. He has everything working out for him at Lecester city, ighalo is the first Nigerian player to play for Manchester, if am not mistaken, but how did he end up at United…
Under a confused manager like Ole, Ndidi will be stocked at the bench, so let him think again for he has his choice. I don’t see him being the key heart of a midfield he is at Leicester at Manchester United….
