Unidentified gunmen assaulted the Te’egbe hamlet in Plateau State’s Bassa Local Government Area, murdering an indeterminate number of persons.
The perpetrators invaded the community with sophisticated weaponry on Friday morning.
According to an eyewitness who talked to our journalist from the neighborhood, around ten dead have been retrieved, but hundreds remain unaccounted for.
Details of the incident are still sketchy as of the time of writing this report.
However, when contacted by reporters, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ubah Gabriel confirmed the attack.
According to him, the Commissioner of Police is at the scene to assess the damages done during the attack.
He said, “We are aware of the incident, the Commissioner of Police is currently there, details will be communicated to you shortly. I will release a press statement”.
