The Lagos State Police command has arrested John Greg, a middle-aged Lebanese man who reportedly drove against traffic and struck a victim.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed the arrest on his verified Twitter handle, saying the culprit had escaped before being apprehended.
According to Hundeyin, on May 4 at around 7.45 a.m., a middle-aged Lebanese named John Greg drove a Toyota 4Runner erratically and against traffic on Victoria Island’s Sanusi Fafunwa Road.

According to him, the culprit knocked down one girl, Omotomi Akinsanya, causing major injury to her leg.
“He sped off but was chased and arrested. Suspect in our custody. Vehicle impounded and in our station.
“Victim undergoing treatment at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH). Victim’s family duly informed. Embassy of Lebanon duly informed.
“Investigation ongoing,” he said.
