An apex Igbo socio-cultural group in Nigeria, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has elected a new leader today, January 10.
The group which represents all Igbo communities within and outside Nigeria elected Professor George Obiozor, as the new President General of the group.

He polled a total of 304 votes to defeat four other candidates and emerged victorious in the delegates election on Sunday.
Professor George Obiozor was the former Nigerian ambassador to the United States of America.

He emerged the winner at the election which took place at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, capital of Imo State.
