A man identified as Cyprian Mbe aged 52 years who specializes in illegal selling of firearms was arrested by the police in Cross River state.
The gunrunner who is a native of Bashia Village in Boki LGA was nabbed with 299 live cartridges concealed in a black bag.
The Suspect has also been linked with allegations of arms supplies and promotion of native wars in some parts of the state and Etung Local Government Area.
The arrest of the Suspect was confirmed by the State Commissioner of Police, Abdulkadir Jimoh in a statement on Monday, November 30.
The commissioner said:
“During a stop and search by the Etung Divisional Patrol team, one Cyprian Mbe, a native of Bashia Village in Boki LGA was intercepted with 299 live cartridges concealed in a black bag. He is a suspected gun runner and promoter of native war
