Republic of the Sudan’s last democratically elected prime minister, Sadiq al-Mahdi, died of coronavirus in Thursday, 26 November 2020.
The North Africa’s former prime minister who was toppled in 1989 by former dictator Omar al-Bashir, died at the age of 84.

According to his family in a statement, he died in the United Arab Emirates, where he had traveled for treatment after contracting the virus.
