Manchester United interim boss, Ralf Rangnick has said Cristiano Ronaldo was omitted by for Tuesday’s match against Burnley because the game demand “a lot of running.”
Rangnick started Edinson Cavani at Turf Moor, hoping to keep United in fourth place in the table.
Paul Pogba put the Red Devils ahead before Jay Rodriguez equalized for the visitors.
Rangnick’s decision to bench Ronaldo drew a lot of attention, and he explained why.
“Today it will require a lot of sprinting, chasing balls, a lot of fight for second balls.
“This best fits the profile for Edinson Cavani which is why he starts today,” Rangnick said.
