Arsene Wenger, the former Arsenal manager, has stated that Chelsea’s new owners would not be able to match Roman Abramovich’s financial power.
Following his country’s decision to attack Ukraine last week, Abramovich is thought to be close to selling the Premier League team.
The Blues were purchased by the Russian billionaire in 2003 and have since been perennial victors.

When asked if Chelsea’s new owners will be able to match Abramovich’s financial power, Wenger said beIN Sports, “You cannot.” You can’t put that money in privately now; it’s impossible. It is, I believe, restricted to £200 million over three years. You could put a billion dollars in at the time.
“I always advised people who wanted to buy football clubs, instead of putting £100m in every year, put £500m in the first year and buy the right players, then you have a team. He could do that and he did very well and today I think the club is managed very well and is at a top-level.”
