End SARS commemoration demonstrations have begun in Osogbo, marking a year after several Nigerian teenagers were reportedly slain by troops at the Lekki tollgate in Lagos while protesting police brutality.
On October 20, 2020, the youngsters were reportedly gunned down at Lekki tollgate while protesting extrajudicial killings and terrible government.
Around 11:30 a.m., the protest began in the Ita-Olookan area.
According to the organizers, the demonstration was held in memory of Alimi Hamed and Mutiu Lawal, who reportedly perished during last year’s End SARS rally.
The protestors also want justice for those who have died, as well as an end to Nigeria’s instability.
