The Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled May 18 and 26 as hearing dates for the bail plea of Nnamdi Kanu, the arrested leader of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
On Friday, Justice Binta Nyako said this.
Remember that earlier on Friday, Justice Nyako dismissed 8 of 15 criminal charges against Nnamdi Kanu, the self-proclaimed leader of Biafra.
The judge dismissed the eight counts on the basis that the evidence did not link him to the crimes.
While ruling on a preliminary objection lodged by the Biafran leader against all of the allegations, Justice Nyako released Kanu from the eight counts.
“I have read the counts and counts 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14 have not disclosed any offence against the defendant.
“‘Counts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 15 shows some allegations. The court shall proceed to try the defendant on those count, ” the Judge ruled.
