On Tuesday, an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court ordered the remand of three men accused of kidnapping a 72-year-old lady.
Bolaji Apena, Believe Deo, and Godday Enock were charged with three counts of conspiracy and kidnapping.
Mrs. O.M. Ajayi, the Chief Magistrate, who did not hear their plea, ordered that they be remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Facility for legal advice from the office of the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
She postponed the hearing until May 9 to seek guidance from the DPP.

Earlier, ASP A. A. Paul, Prosecution Counsel, informed the court that the suspects committed the crime on March 18, at 1 p.m., at No. 27, Tunde Taiwo St., Epe.
He told the court that the suspects planned to kidnap Fasilat Badmis, 72.
“They planned to kidnap the septuagenarian after her Zuhir prayers in the mosque,” he said.
The offence, he said, contravenes the provisions of sections 4 and 6 of the Kidnapping Prohibition Laws of Lagos State on Nigeria, 2017, it also contravene Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
