A man was discovered hanging from the ceiling when police and neighbors break open his shop in Kano state.
The deceased who is identified as Ibrahim Abubakar, Popularly called ‘Iro’, killed himself in his car batteries shop along Zoo Road in Kano metropolis.
An eyewitness account reveal that Abubakar attended the 4pm Laasar prayers alongside other worshippers after which they all left for their respective shops.

It was further revealed that Iro stopped at a neighbour’s shop on his way to his shop, where he collected a rope.
The deceased created space for himself to commit suicide by sending away his biological son to buy food and another shopkeeper on another errand before locking himself up in the shop.
His son found the shop locked when he returned with the food and after waiting for a while, he became suspicious and alerted neighbours.
The neighbour whose rope the deceased collected also became suspicious and alerted the police.
The police and neighbors found the body hanging from the ceiling when they break into the shop.
Some neighbors of the deceased affirmed that he was suffering from a mental illness.
