The salaries of federal university lecturers which was stopped by president Muhammadu Buhari‘s administration in January who refused to enroll on IPPIS.

However, to cushion the effects of coronavirus on lecturers and their dependents, the president has approved the payment of February, March withheld salaries who were yet to join the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, IPPIS.
This was announced on Tuesday in a statement by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, stating that president Buhari also directed the Minister of Finance, Budget and Planning, and the Accountant General of the Federation, to effect the directive.
The Minister also disclosed that Vice Chancellors have been asked to revalidate the affected lecturers Bank Verification Numbers (BVN) and forward to the Accountant General of the Federation for the payments.
