Few hours after a bomb explosion at Yammama village in Malumfashi local government area of Katsina state killed at least 7 persons, including children on Saturday.
Two farmers identified as Akocha Aisami and Yakubu Isuwa have been killed by suspected Boko Haram insurgents in Boftari, Kuburmbula ward of Chibok local government area of Borno state.
A source said the insurgents came on motorbikes at about 2pm on Saturday and started shooting sporadically in the area where the villagers were farming.
The source said:
We have been seeing them everyday come around, and we don’t argue with them when they demand for food items
Today, about 12 of them came in through Gogombi and opened fire on those who were on the farm, killing Akocha and Yakubu who were tired and couldn’t run to save their lives.
It was also revealed that 10 other farmers were also said to have sustained injuries from the gunshots, and the source said most villagers are now scared of going to the farm.
However, troops from the army’s 117 task force battalion immediately moved into the community that is 9 kilometres away from Chibok, the local government headquarters, and recovered the bodies of the farmers.
