
The Supreme court also ordered INEC to issue a Certificate of Return to the candidate with the next highest number of votes in the governorship election.
Which as a result of this judgment, Diri Duoye became the governor of Bayelsa state.
While reacting, Degi Eremienyo, the sacked deputy governor-elect candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa state, has asked the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to investigate allegations of certificate forgery against him.
According to Eremienyo at a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday, February 20, said his right to a fair hearing was breached.
He maintain that before the Supreme Court arrived at its judgment there was no investigation and witnesses provided.
The sacked deputy governor-elect went on to question the apex court’s adopted procedure and urged that allegations of forgery against him be investigated by the police.
